Avalon Meals on Wheels Needs Your Help!

The Meals on Wheels of Ellis County is asking for assistance with deliveries in the Avalon area. Avalon ISD has a delivery "team" that coordinates deliveries every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. With more volunteers, we could fulfill the needs of our community for the whole week.

The meals are dropped off at the elementary school Mon-Fri between 11-11:15 for drivers to pick up and delivery. Currently, there are five residents in our community who receive this service. Drivers do not deliver on holidays, such as Labor Day. (Click to read more)

Avalon NHS and NJHS Complete Community Service Projects

Avalon's National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society members went to Ennis to serve the community. Some students went to the Golden Circle Senior Citizen Center to pull weeds and clean flower beds. The other students went to Helping Hands of Ennis and planted their annual garden and helped in the thrift shop. Click on story above for more pictures.
