Inclement Weather Information

Reminder ~ in the event Avalon ISD will have a school closing or delay - these are the TV stations we use. Their system also simultaneously updates with the TV crawl. You can also go to the station pages for school closing/delays listed at the bottom in case the TV crawl is lengthy and takes a while to come back around to the "A" listing.

These announcements will also be posted here to the school FB page, as well as our school website. We are keeping informed through weather updates as they reported. We will post the minute a decision to close or delay is necessary.

Avalon ISD Nominated for National Blue Ribbon School

Dear Parents:

It is with great pride that I inform you of a very important nomination for Avalon School. We have been selected as one of only twenty-five campuses in the State of Texas as a nominee for the U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School Award! The article below includes more detail.

This nomination is one that is not earned by any single component. It is a validation of our belief and a motto that hangs in my office – “Together We Make A Difference”. Accolades such as these speak to the efforts of all of us working together – teachers, administrators, staff, parents, board of trustees and community - working for one common goal – to provide the best possible education for every individual child.

We have much to be proud of with the national nomination and recognition, and we want to share this news with you personally. Congratulations to Avalon ISD, its school family and the community of Avalon.

Best Regards,

Dr. David Del Bosque
Superintendent
