Mrs. Neva Del Bosque begins her 23rd year with Avalon ISD for the 2020-2021 school year.  She has been in education for 35 years, teaching and serving as school counselor at St. John High School in Ennis for 10 years and then serving Palmer ISD as the high school counselor for two years before coming to Avalon. 
 
Mrs. Del Bosque graduated as a 12-year graduate from St. John School in Ennis in 1979.  She graduated from Navarro College in May of 1981 and matriculated to East Texas State University in Commerce (now Texas A&M University-Commerce).  She received her Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Student Personnel and Guidance and Psychology in December of 1982.  She continued her studies at ETSU and received her Master of Science degree in Student Personnel and Guidance and Psychology in December of 1983.  Additional graduate studies in Counseling and Educational Administration have been completed through Texas A&M University-Commerce.
 
She has been married to Dr. David Del Bosque for 36 years (December of 1983) and they live in Ennis. During their careers in education, they worked together for 33 years (St. John and Avalon ISD).  Her interests include reading and the ocean.  She is also a HUGE Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers fan!
 
Mrs. Del Bosque serves Avalon ISD in many roles.  Her primary role is that of School Counselor and Director of Special Programs.  She is also the PEIMS (Public Educational Information Management System) Coordinator and the District Testing Coordinator.
