good evening everyone they're here Avalon senior graduation of 2020 due to covid-19 reasons we are having to have an outside and maintain social distancing we are here outside with all family and friends gathered here if you could please share this so other relatives could see it tag them in the comment stuff like that alright we are about to be good evening ladies and gentlemen exercises for the class of 2020 at this time as our students standing for the pledge has an invitation as we continue on to the next track that's not in the script good evening and welcome to the commencement exercises for the class of 2012 we are pleased to have all of you here in through our Facebook live for education online to share this special moment and Eliza t22 students graduating tonight Allegiant Airlines no one thought when we were exiting the doors of our school buildings on that Friday before spring break that we would not come together again until tonight at 350 degrees literally overnight in our students and did what they needed to do we also learn new turns along the way. social distancing antibodies in ultimately Zumba Teague it was a challenging 10 weeks for Saul who are the clients of 20/20 something else the final year probably the busiest time of the year include this memories and traditions what we hope for this class of 2022 remember is that you made it you achieved your goal a graduation you are here tonight to walk the stage receive your diploma turn your tassel because you made it can take that away from you 40 second highest average in her class salutatorian 2080 sounds Bailey will continue her studies at Texas A&M University in the fall majoring in public health mr. Marshall Board of Trustees faculty and staff and members of the class of 2020 I welcome all of you here this evening to this extraordinary night and this much-anticipated is my honor to speak to all of me tonight that this has been when I started my second semester over for half of it at first and then bother me really like. the word fourteen effectively I think most people go through school waiting to get to senior year you are knowledge for all your hard work but you also get to do a lot of fun things back your Lawrence senior breakfast Senior Walk in graduation practice unfortunately the graduating class of 2020 most of those things he walked out the door is heading this spring break having our senior year come to a screeching halt was definitely not where we had in mind however even though do all the fun activities for seniors the support that we got from everyone has been amazing it wasn't just from our family friends in school but from people who don't don't you know us personally everyone got together to try and make the best of our ideal senior year I'm so grateful for all the people who made my senior year better than half of the class of 2020 Air Marshal mr. Hernandez and mrs. Del Bosque for making this ceremony happy for us this evening we are fortunate to have this happen we will definitely never forget this night I try not to dwell on the current situation I tried to not feel like we're being deprived of anything I just tried to not I just tried to remember that it ever even though it looks bad or not ideal something good will come from it I tried two things of things in the past the things that I have learned from an educational and I was still here goodbye for the curry students to help their high school years, don't be afraid to ask for help I'm very shy I used to dress asking teachers or staff for help I know I am more than willing to help you but don't be mad if they don't outright tell you the answer it's frustrating but you you will feel proud when the when you teachers have bad days trust me I know this because my mother is a teacher so if they seem like they're having a bad day down the normal shenanigans tonight's class try to stay out of drama I know it can be difficult when it seems to be all around you others try to put you into it School career will be so much more pleasurable if you do not put yourself in that placed fourth apply yourself to everything you do it doesn't matter if it's academic Sports organization I got that I really enjoy doing something if I gave my all to what I was a poor part of finally won last decent provide is how I will consider this beach life is sometimes given situation covid-19 has brought sadness too many people for many reasons so we must always try the positives in our situations they may be hard to find so even though graduation parties have been canceled or postponed and our graduation is definitely not traditional but it is ours we still have tell me a compliment should be proud of we have met requirements to graduate and we were Avalon High Schools graduating seniors a 2020 we have these different time Woodforest like the cliche hindsight is 20/20 I believe that if we focus on the future instead of the past we will accomplish great things I wish all of fellow classmates a blessed and wonderful future may we all travel safely home and to all the current student I pray that your senior year does not include a global pandemic stop loss to us thank you Angie for cheap in the height average in her class the valedictorian of 2020 is Miss Kayla Campbell a number for KU her study at Texas Tech University in the fall to seek a degree in education mr. Marshall mr. Hernandez in the Avalon tonight to celebrate with the class of 2020 I know I speak for all the graduates when considering we are very grateful to share this important moment of our lives with you Steph the dedication which act provides for all of us the best chance to succeed inspiration we cannot be without you you have given us life love and support ourselves contributed enough 3 special for me a few different turns My Story begins 11 years ago when I was in the first grade I was held back and Lady dyslexia in the third grade but did not receive treatment until I move to Avalon in the fourth grade not long after coming to Avalon I unenroll myself from special education I struggle my reading disability I sold every spelling test along the way and was very embarrassed by my disability I never thought I'd be where I am today growing up my dad always told I would have to work harder than most people to get the same opportunities in life he has been my friend especially my sisters my dreams a lot harder to my studies were normal on homework I would spend hours checking everybody every word as my personal academic goal my struggles are differences discourage mean I did not want to find who I am as a person after you is that you pursue your biggest Wildest Dreams no matter how impossible they seem only impossible if you allow it to be we are all in our lives where everything is about to change we have learned in the past 3 months how quickly everything can change search The Chew a shin is completely up to us the choices we are making now determined that spaz for our next chapter even at this young age of 18 or 19 we must know life will never be straight path we will face lots of challenges changes and rhetoric rejection if this time of disruption as taught us anything to not be discouraged by this to succeed and dreams I work at my classmates and I see nothing but potential I look at each of you and I seniors many things to be disappointed about instead I saw my classmates grow most of us started working jobs and learn new skills we chose to road rise above and look for new ways to begin journey which we are about to Embark upon we've been given of what tomorrow will feel like when we know there is no coming back it's time for us to see what our future willing to bring to it will take us the students UC Buffet are you our future nurses Engineers mechanics and I hope that my classmates know no matter where it's supposed to go whether it be college technical school or straight into the workforce the potential is there as long as you apply yourself chase after your dreams always strive for growth mom holds a very special spot in our hearts we will always remember the challenge in the classroom the excitement activities are game days and the personal connections with our teachers we will always remember his home the senior class has made me great memories over the years here at Avalon ID and will leave many memories for all of us who care with them at this time because the class will conduct their presentation of roses as a gesture of love and thanks to special people in each of their lives 16 years ago a contribution 1500 College Ernie Anastos how to recognize this year's degree recipients College president in the board of Tuskegee I would like to say congratulations to all of you on your astounding accomplishment Robin Jerry was filled with ups and downs your perseverance is to be celebrated completing dual credit courses and it's hanging a college credential while in high it's quite an achievement and used to be very proud as you continue your journey Beyond High School remember you will always be a part of the nevera college family we wish you all the best as you continue on your journey so now I'm going to recognize the force first. Michaela Campbell mr. Dylan Martin mr. Miguel padron and Miss Bailey Bowers as a fellow graduate of the bear College I welcome you all to the Alumni Association congratulations the university entrance scholastically gets resenting scholar Awards of recognition to those students in the top of the class this recognition award is presented to Bailey Sowers Kayla Campbell through the generosity of Avalon alumnus and Texas Tech graduate mr. Tim cashion a scholarship and to encourage higher education for graduates in the amount of $500 that cash in scholarship is presented to Kayla Campbell College in Madden to 1500 per semester for 2 years to Savannah Wallace the Horatio Alger Association is presenting a States. in the amount of $10,000 the national Sonic Lodge Number 6 International Eastern Star chapter number 320 are presenting scholarships this evening to four of our graduates in the amount of $750 each the first one goes to just indeed also to Emily Salazar and also Savannah Wallace the Charles butt scholarship for aspiring teachers one component of the raising Texas teachers initiative is awarded to a hundred students in Texas each year students must be committed to teaching disadvantaged school or area in a Texas public school scholarship in the amount of $8,000 per year for 4 years for $32,000 Kayla Campbell in memory of Henry Wesley oladele senior is presenting a A&M University family scholarship in the amount of $500 to Bailey Stowers the Texas rural education is awarding a $2,000 scholarship to Kayla Campbell University is a warden the Christian leadership scholarship in the amount of 2 Christian service scholarship in the amount of $3,000 per year and also the award in the amount of $4,000 per year are presented to Justin Dean the Citizens National Bank of Texas in Waxahachie this year the class of 2020 has several recipients receiving $1,000 Singleton merit scholarship Jacqueline Lopez also receive it a thousand in Singleton merit scholarship is Miss Bailey Stowers receiving an $8,000 me Singleton scholarship into 1000 each fall and spring semester for 4 years is Michaela Campbell also receiving the $8,000 scholarship is Miss Aaliyah also receiving this scholarship is Miss Emily Salazar established in 2002 a scholarship with name for super and $300 is presented to Kayla Campbell also receiving this scholarship is Miss Paola Elizondo also receiving this scholarship is Miss Ali amore in the amount of $1,000 a scholarship from the Ellis County game dinner is presented to Bailey Sowers Texas Tech University is awarded a recruitment scholarship for $2,000 freshman presidential merit scholarship scholarship for $1,000 to Kayla Campbell in 2019 Avalon ISD established the Doctor David Del Bosque orange and white scholarship in recognition of his dedication and devotion for apple and iced tea from this phone any amount a scholarship is presented to Dylan Martin also to miss Emily Salazar condition of her commitment to academic excellence in her class the Texas Education Agency Awards a one-year full tuition scholarship to the valedictorian of the class of 2020 Miss Kayla Campbell the total dollar amount earned by our scholarship recipients tonight amounts to $108,500 congratulations to all our scholarships at this time I ask the number mr.
