"Going Home ~ The Story of Riley-Dirk" Benefits Fund

This children’s book has been a special project in the making for quite a while. It is a children's softcover book, 32 pages, with a readability index between grades 3 and 4 and older (although could be read by younger students).

ALL proceeds from the sale of the book go to the benefit of our children. Created 10 years ago, our Avalon ISD Human Resource Fund is a school activity fund to help in providing emergency school supplies, glasses, shoes and clothing and other times when a helping hand is necessary. Oftentimes, parents have had the misfortune of the loss of a job or have lost their homes to accidental or natural disasters such as home fires, straight-line winds, or tornadoes. During these times, there is need for a temporary helping hand as they get back on their feet.

The cost of the book is $10.00 and is for the benefit of children in those circumstances. If you are interested in making a contribution through the purchase of this children’s book, please fill out the attached order form and return to your child’s homeroom teacher. We will send your order home with your child. This book provides great reading for kids but also for parents to read with their children!

The story is written from Riley-Dirk's perspective. Riley was a stray pup that wandered from Ft. Worth to Avalon where we ultimately brought him to our home in Ennis and adopted him. He is an extraordinary pup that loves people and has brought much joy to our lives. His story is one of innocence and perseverance.

All books will include a signature by Dr. Del Bosque on the inside cover. If you would like your book to be specifically personalized, please include the names on your order form. All checks should be made out to Avalon ISD Human Resource Fund.
