The National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society both exist to promote high academic standards, a means of ensuring the continuation of democracy, and an instrument for the betterment of the individual and the school.

The objectives of these organizations are to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service to others, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in our nation’s secondary schools.

Since the spring of 1992, the James Worsham chapter of the National Honor Society at Avalon School has inducted 96 members.

Since its charter year in 2000, we have inducted 96 members into the Pepper Wells chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.
