Math 5 Assignments

Students will be able to able create and balance a budget.

 

 Students will refer back to last weeks differences between expenses and income.  They will complete the Pay the Bills assignment below.  Their is an embedded video of how to write checks and keeping record in a register.

 

1.  First part is a practice it!  This is slide 4 of the Pay the Bills activity.

Once you have watched the videos you will complete the Practice it!  

 

2.  Then you will follow the remaining directions to complete the Pay the Bills Activity.

There is a video on checks and check registers embedded on slide 2.  Slide 3 will give you the detailed instructions.

3.  On the reflection slide make sure you use complete sentences and details. 

4.  The extension is your examples of expenses and income.  Be creative!

Have fun learning how to write checks and balance a budget using a check register.

Students will be able to able to identify the difference between a fixed expense and a variable expense. They will also be able to balance a simple budget.

4. Once you have finished the videos you will complete slides 10-12 of the Financial Literacy 2 packet and share your responses via email, mailing back, or google classroom

Students will be able to explain the difference between gross income and net income; as well as decipher them in real world problems
