Parking Change Affects Front of Elementary

The construction on Hwy 55 in front of the elementary has been ongoing and will continue for some time. However, it has allowed us to reassess the “parking” area in front of the elementary. We have decided, effective immediately, that that area will no longer be an area for cars to be parked for pick up or drop off of children during the morning or afternoon times. It will now be assigned only for temporary stops of 15 minutes or less during the school day. It will be only for parallel parking facing north toward Nash. Parents or visitors may use it to pick up sick children or drop off children who are late, or dropping off items for students or personnel. Signs will be posted soon in this area.

This will alleviate many safety concerns such as backing up onto the highway, vehicle blindspots from angled parking and improve visibility and supervision of our students.

We thank you for your cooperation.
