8th Year - "Best High School" Bronze Awarded to Avalon HS

Congratulations to Avalon High School for its designation as one of the nation's "Best High Schools" by the U.S. News and World Report! Athletic Banquet Slated for May 18 - Get tickets by May 2!

Avalon ISD is hosting its annual Athletic Banquet on May 18, 2017. A full meal will be served starting at 6:00 p.m. with the banquet to follow. The meal consists of Papa John’s pizza, salad, bottled water or tea, and dessert. The meal is free for all athletes and meal tickets are $6.00 each for adults and kids (non-athletes).

If you would like to purchase a meal ticket, the order form is available on the school website or in the high school office. Please return your order form with the money to Mrs. Harris in the high school office for your tickets. The last day to purchase a meal ticket is May 2, 2017. We look forward to seeing you at the banquet!

National FFA Week Comes During Busy Spring!

Avalon ISD will celebrate National FFA Week Tuesday - Friday, February 21-24! Tuesday - Thursday, FFA members and other AG students will conduct presentations to the elementary grades on various agricultural topics, sponsor a coloring contest and read with Kindergarten and 1st Grade students. On Friday, the 24th, students will host the Agriculture Olympics during elementary PE times! Friday will also be a dress-up day for elementary students to dress like an agricultural career or barnyard character.

2016-2017 School Supply Lists Available!

Avalon ISD has posted the school supply lists for the 2016-2017 school year on the school website at the link below. Please note that 4th and 5th grade are on one page and the cumulative supply lists for grades 7-12 is a 2-page file. These lists have also been sent to Wal Mart in Ennis and Waxahachie and should be available at the store in their display.

2016-2017 Registration for ALL Students Pk3-12

Avalon ISD registration for all students in grades PK3-12 for the 2016-2017 school year was held this past week. The parents of any student who was not registered are to call the high school office and arrange a time to come in with your student. All students need to have new ID pictures/cards created for the new school year. Forms that may be completed beforehand and brought to registration are available online at the school website page under the PARENTS button at the top.. There are additional forms and information you will receive when you come in to register. As of August 11, all classes are closed and only students who live in the district may register.

Back to School Fair 2016! Wednesday, August 3!

The 2nd annual Avalon ISD Back-to-School Fair will be held Wednesday, August 3, in the J.P. Griffith gymnasium from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We have assembled another great selection of organizations, vendors/business associates and parents from the surrounding area to attend and offer information, assistance, free hair cuts and even some goodies for our students. Carter Blood Care will have its mobile unit parked at the First Baptist Church of Avalon for our first blood drive of the year! MyTee Sweet Snow Cones will be on site for anyone wanting a nice refreshment from the heat. This is also the first day of registration for all Avalon students in grades PK-3 through 12th grade!
