Christmas Wonderland! December 20!

The Avalon School students, faculty and staff are excited to bring a touch of Christmas spirit to the Avalon community once again with "Christmas Wonderland"! This special evening will be held on the evening of the last day of school, Thursday, December 20, 2018 in the middle school and high school buildings. Activities include Cookie Decorating, Christmas Café (Hot Chocolate/Coffee/Apple Cider), Snoopy’s Snack Shack (cookies, cakes, etc.), Ornament Making, Lighted “Snow” Ride, Christmas Jingo, Reindeer Games, Photo scenes (bring your camera!), Food Court (cash required here only), and SANTA!

Make plans to join us and celebrate the end of the fall semester and entering the holiday season!

Christmas Benefit Recital December 12

The Avalon Christmas Recital Benefit will be held on Wednesday, December 12, at 6:00 p.m. in the J.P. Griffith gymnasium. Each elementary grade level will perform some of your favorite Christmas songs! Food items will be available for purchase. Entry price is $2.00 per person. All proceeds and donations will benefit our 7th grade student, Toni Darrough, daughter of one of our Pre-K teachers, Ms. Nakia Mack, in her ongoing fight against cancer.

New Start Time for 2018-2019!

In order to incorporate some exciting changes for the 2018-2019 school year, the daily schedule for 1st period/beginning of the day will include the usual 7:50 bell. All students are then expected to be in class by 7:55 a.m.!

Registration for 2018-2019 Set for Thursday, August 2!

Registration for ALL students for the 2018-2019 school year will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 in the J.P. Griffith gymnasium! Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. and administrators and staff will be on hand to help with registration until 6:00 p.m. Students will also have their pictures taken for ID cards at this time. Please follow the link under "Parents" to the set of registration forms that can be downloaded, filled in at home and brought to registration. The lunch application is not available until August 1 and needs to be filled out by all parents at registration. Can't wait to see everyone as we prepare for a new school year!

Back to School Festival ~ Thursday, August 2!

The 3rd annual Avalon School Back-to-School Festival will be held during Registration Day from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.! (Registration is from 9 a.m.-6:00 p.m.) FREE professional hair cuts will be available as well as a free hot dog lunch from 12-1! Our other participants include: Ellis County Sheriff's Office, Avalon School FFA, Avalon PTO, Drug Prevention Resources, Hope Clinic of Ennis, Community Council Health Ins, Region X Migrant Services, North Texas Poison Control, North Texas Behavioral Health Authority and Citizens National Bank of Waxahachie (backpacks!), Running Free Ranch and Blessings by Priscilla.

Avalon "District of Innovation" Plan Adopted

Avalon ISD has developed a plan to be considered as a "District of Innovation". This designation will allow the district local courtesies as outlined in the plan developed by the DOI committee.
