Accelerated Reader
The Accelerated Reader Program is part of the Avalon ISD Plan (6th-12th) to promote excellence in reading. End of year reward for students reaching preset goals for number of points. Possibilities include going to a movie & out to eat. Something fun for the kids to enjoy. We will also be awarding prizes throughout the school year for points that are earned
every six weeks. The 6th grade students will need 25 AR points, our 7th & 8th graders will need 35 AR points, and 9th thru 12 will need 45 AR points. We will have and Ice Cream Party at the end of every six weeks for the students who reach the AR Goal for their grade. We will also have a an end of Semester Party, where we will watch movies and have a Special Lunch, and Ice Cream. Gift Cards will also be given to our top reader in JH & HS.
